peri-menopause/ menopause, pregnancy or becoming a new mum, while building strength, resilience, and getting in the best shape of their lives.

MY STORY

Hi! I’m Veronika, the proud founder of Strong AF Fitness, and I’m so glad you’re here.

My journey into strength training and bodybuilding isn’t one with a long history. Although I played sports off and on since childhood, I only became serious about fitness in 2020, right before COVID-19 turned the world upside down. Each wave of the pandemic brought its own set of challenges, and I found myself having to restart my fitness journey multiple times due to gym closures and reopenings.

Growing up, I played basketball and later got into martial arts, which I enjoyed for years. But, like many young adults, I started prioritising going out, socialising, and fully embracing life. It was fun, but it eventually impacted my health and appearance.

A string of failed attempts at weight loss eventually led me to fitness classes at my local gym, where I did a lot of cardio. The weight came off, but my body didn’t feel or look the way I wanted it to. Despite liking my classes and instructor, I knew something was missing and something had to change.​

Getting started with weight training was an emotional rollercoaster. My shyness, perfectionism, low self-esteem, zero confidence all held me back. I was eager to try but too proud to ask for help. Hell no! Too embarrassing. But also too terrified of making mistakes or being judged. What if I looked out of place, too old, or just plain incapable? Ugh, don't wanna look stupid doing things wrong.
Those thoughts held me back for a long time, and I’d often feel frustrated to tears with myself for letting them get in the way.

At Strong AF Fitness, we believe that the best time to start working on your fitness goals is now. Don't wait another year to transform your health and well-being.

WHAT SETS US APART?

I’m more than a training and nutrition coach; I understand the unique challenges women face when they decide to start weight training and fitness at mature age, especially for women navigating peri-menopause or menopause, managing a demanding career, or balancing family responsibilities.

 

I know the mental and physical strength it takes to push past limits and reach your goals.
I've been through it myself—I know firsthand the physical and emotional hurdles and what’s required to overcome them.

I’m committed to creating sustainable change, not quick fixes or temporary solutions. Reinventing yourself, breaking old habits, and making health and fitness priority and part of your life takes dedication, especially when facing the mental and physical barriers that mature women  often encounter. We all know how easy it is to put our well-being last; we don't prioritise ourselves and our wellbeing and before we know it we face lasting health issues and find daily tasks challenging or impossible to do.
